Dr. Riva Wolkow

Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Riva Wolkow proudly owns Village Animal Hospital in Dunwoody and Belle Isle Animal Hospital. A graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Wolkow began her career at a large veterinary hospital in Alpharetta, where she gained valuable experience in providing high-quality care. Her philosophy at both practices is to treat every pet as if they were her own, recommending only treatments she would pursue for her own animals.

Dr. Melanie Lucero

Veterinarian

Dr. Melanie Lucero is a native of Marietta, Georgia. She attended Furman University for her undergraduate studies and earned her doctorate from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lucero has worked in small animal clinics in Annapolis, MD, and San Antonio, TX, but ultimately returned to Georgia in 2016 to be closer to home. She joined Village Animal Hospital to continue her passion for providing exceptional care to pets.

In her free time, Dr. Lucero enjoys playing soccer, reading, and spending time with her family. She and her husband share their home with their daughter, two standard poodles, Evie and Flo, and two mischievous cats, Jeff and Gary.

Dr. Ashlyn Roberts

Veterinarian

Originally from Fostoria, Ohio, Dr. Ashlyn Roberts graduated from THE Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined Village Animal Hospital with a special interest in behavioral medicine, feline medicine, and nutrition. As a Fear Free-certified veterinarian, Dr. Roberts is passionate about alleviating fear, anxiety, and stress in pets while they are in the hospital setting.

Dr. Roberts lives in Dunwoody with her husband, Rob, their dog Zeke, and two cats, Lucy and Linus. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, and cheering on her favorite Buckeye football team.

Cameron

Veterinary Assistant

Cameron has been working in veterinary medicine for nearly seven years, joining Village Animal Hospital in February 2023. He is a biology major at Oglethorpe University, set to graduate in 2026, and plans to pursue veterinary school with a focus on veterinary academia and research in microbiology/virology.

Cameron has owned a variety of pets, from horses to mice, but currently shares his home with Duck, a black lab, Fresca, a calico cat, and August, a tabby. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, competitive horseback riding, painting, and participating in campus clubs.

Émaria

Veterinary Assistant

Émaria joined the Village Animal Hospital team in October 2023, bringing a wealth of experience and passion for animal care. Her journey began with roles in doggy daycare, grooming, and kennel assistance, eventually leading her to vet tech positions in general and emergency medicine.

She shares her home with her beloved dog Jordyn and her cat Jaydyn, both rescues. In her free time, Émaria enjoys quiet moments with her pets and continuing her mission of rescuing animals.

Ava

Veterinary Assistant

Ava became part of the Village Animal Hospital family in March 2024. She began her veterinary career at 16 as a kennel assistant and has worked her way up to her current role as a veterinary Assistant. While Ava loves all animals, she has a special fondness for cats, pugs, and golden retrievers.

At home, Ava cares for her four cats—Binx, Biscuit, Ash, and Moo—and her golden retriever, Tula. In her free time, she volunteers at her local feline shelter and enjoys spending time with her furry family.

Linda

Practice Manager

Linda is a proud Auburn University alumna with over 13 years of dedicated experience in veterinary medicine, all spent at Village Animal Hospital under different owners. She has been managing the practice for over a decade and has worked alongside Dr. Riva since 2022.
Linda’s love for animals has been a constant throughout her life. She has cared for Paso Fino horses, which she showed competitively for 12 years, and now shares her home with two golden retrievers, Maverick and Cooper.

In her free time, Linda enjoys reading, working out, cheering on her favorite football teams, and exploring fine dining.
